Dr. Karen Vallee
I graduated from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002, then did a small animal rotating internship in San Diego, California. I have been practicing in the Austin and surrounding areas since 2013 and before that practiced in Washington State and Los Angeles, California where I grew up.
I was an only child so my pets were my family members my whole life but my yearly summer experiences as a child on my grandparents dairy farm in France, milking the cows by hand, caring for the ducks, chickens, rabbits and my grandfathers prized pigeons, are what inspired me to become a veterinarian. I love being able to help people care for their furry family members in any way I can, by offering the highest level of medicine and preventative care.
My special interests are in internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. I’ve been called a cat doctor/ lover but I love the doggies too. In my free time you’ll find me at my kids sporting events, hanging with my 2 cats, Glazed and Thunder, 2 dogs Trooper and Lucy Lu , doing a home improvement/renovation project or bing watching crime tv.
