What is Urgent Care?
Urgent care is different from emergency veterinary care in that it addresses serious but non-life-threatening conditions. Urgent conditions can be similar to emergency conditions, but they are less severe.
Pfennig Lane Animal Hospital is not an emergency veterinary clinic. We will discuss your pet's condition with you and determine whether to book an urgent care appointment or refer you to the emergency veterinary services listed on this page for more immediate care.

Steps to Take When Seeking Urgent or Emergency Veterinary Care
- Call Ahead When Possible - We recommend that you call ahead before you leave for the animal hospital.
- Follow Instructions Provided - When you call our vet clinic or nearby emergency animal hospital, you'll receive instructions to help apply first aid or make your pet more comfortable. Follow these instructions carefully.
- Remain Calm - Remain calm and be extra careful around your pet. When an animal is in pain they often react negatively towards anyone trying to help and could bite or scratch.
- Bring Your Pet In For Care - Do not put yourself at risk! Safely bring your pet to the animal hospital.
