I have always loved helping people help animals. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2017 with a degree in social work and during my time in school, I raised three service dogs to assist those with visual impairments and other disabilities. After graduating, I worked as a training assistant for a guide dog school in New York until I moved to Texas where I managed the dog foster program for a local Austin rescue. I am thrilled to continue to help pets and people in a new way in my current role at Pfennig Lane Animal Hospital! At home, I love hiking and competing in dog sports with my golden retriever Pita and Bracco Italiano Babka, as well as cooking, trying all of the delicious restaurants in Austin, and traveling. I also volunteer with Divine Canines as a therapy dog team with Pita, and as a home visit volunteer with Gold Ribbon Rescue. I can’t wait to meet you and your pets!

I am one of the enthusiastic Client Services Representatives here at Pfennig Lane Animal Hospital. My responsibilities include being the point of contact in our facility to ensure top-quality client and patient care, scheduling appointments and inventory management. Prior to joining Pfennig Lane Animal Hospital, I worked in Austin as a LVN enriching the lives of individuals and their family members. While I have enjoyed my time working in human medicine, I currently enjoy applying my 30+ years of medical experience to that of animal medicine as I love working with both people and animals. I have two children, Joshua and Lisa, and three 3 amazingly energetic grandchildren (Jackson, Samuel, & Abigail) who I absolutely adore. I also must not forget about Rusty, my 3-year-old lab and Desmond, my 2-year-old Shih Tzu who bring me so much joy.

I always knew I wanted to work with animals. I can remember wanting to be a Veterinarian at the age of 5 years old, and I never changed my mind! Recently, I was finally able to break through into the veterinary industry, I fell in love with being a veterinary nurse. I have worked in the service industry for my whole working life ranging from restaurants to retirement homes. But there is something so rewarding to be able to be the voice for the pets and to help them feel better when they are sick. My absolute favorite though? Dentistry! I love to see the immediate change in pets' smiles after a dental cleaning. I love the sensation of being able to remove the bacteria plaque in the mouth that contaminates the bloodstream and improve an animal's welfare one smile at a time! I also enjoy educating my clients on dentistry and preparing preventative care plans that work best for each pet and owner. I am currently enrolled in school and working towards my LVT. I plan to specialize in Dentistry and spread my enthusiasm for pet care with others in the field of veterinary medicine. I currently have 6 pets of my own: 3 cats: Punkin, Mister Pickles and my tripod Athena; and my 3 dogs: Mia, Lola and Paxton. I am excited to be a part of this team at PLAH and to continue to grow in my career in veterinary medicine.

My name is Stephanie and my adventure of veterinary medicine began in 2009. I first got a taste of veterinary medicine when I was grooming for a veterinary hospital. I quickly realized that I wanted to know more about veterinary medicine. Hungry for education, I put myself through the Austin Community College Veterinary Assistant program. During my time in school, I was able to acquire and practice many skill sets that a veterinary assistant needs to succeed within the field of veterinary medicine. I did many hours of volunteer work and enjoyed the ability to share my skills and give back through shelter medicine. Shortly after finishing the program in 2014, I became a team member of Pfennig Lane Animal Hospital. My interests are in emergency medicine, surgery and pathology and disease control. I am currently pursuing further education to obtain my Veterinary Technician License (LVT). I have an amazing son, Christopher, who is my motivation for all that I do in life. We have two fur babies, a 7-year-old Himalayan cat named Harley and Patches an 11-year-old chihuahua.

My name is Ki’era and I’ve had a love for animals for as long I can remember. I started pursuing my passion by volunteering and helping at different animal hospitals 10 years ago. I love the aspect of learning about animals and then being able to share and teach that with pet parents so that they can continue to give and do the best for their fur babies every single day. I currently have my bachelor’s in Wildlife Biology but plan to go back to school to get my Veterinary Technician License so that one day I can combine the two and work towards the conservation of endangered species which is another passion of mine.
